Pregnancy Journals
When its happening to you, you are sure you will never forget it. A few years from now, you might not be so clear on the details of how it felt to hear your baby's heartbeat for the first time or when you first felt your baby kick.
One way to capture those memories is to keep a pregnancy journal. You can use your journal to write about your daily activities, your changing body, the way you feel about what is happening to you or letters to your baby.
For the best journaling experience, always include the date of the entry. Only use one "place" to journal, too many notebooks increase your chances of losing journal entries. Don't just write what happened, explain how you felt about what happened.
There are many styles of journals, it doesn't matter how you keep track of your pregnancy as long as you write it down. No matter how busy your days are, one of these ideas should work for you.
On-Line Journal
Blogger.com provides a free service that allows you to make a web-journal without knowing anything about making a web page. You simply log into your journal, write your notes for the day and publish. Your journal will be on-line, so it is easy to share exciting moments with family and friends. You can even print pages from your journal to keep in a notebook.
Palm Pilot Journal
Put your PDA to good use recording your thoughts and feelings about your new arival. You can write your entries while waiting for meetings, riding to work or anytime that works for you. Sync your notes to your computer, and you can easily cut and paste the notes into a word processor to store on your hard-drive or print them out.
Notebook by the Bed
You don't have to be a techie to keep a pregnancy journal. Pen and paper will record your thoughts just as well as keybord and monitor. Keep your notebook someplace where you are sure to see it every day, like on your night stand or with your coffe cup. Take a few minutes each day or two to jot down some thoughts or experiences.
Calendar Journal
Really pressed for time? Keep track of your pregnancy on your calender. Write down important dates or interesting things such as doctor visits or particularly active times. If you like, use stickers to express a mood such as excitement at feeling the baby kick, or discomfort with morning sickness.
